Synopsis by Mark Deming

Three innocent schoolgirls are put on the front lines of battling demonic lust in this offbeat comedy from Japan. Kyoko (Senna Matsuda), Emi (Yuka Nakamori), and Mayu (Yuko Kitamura) are three Japanese high school students who after classes head up their school's Supernatural Phenomena Research Club (hey, it beats joining the Audio-Visual Squad). After the mysterious deaths of several students at the school, Kyoko, Emi, and Mayu are asked to investigate, and they discover a logical, Earthbound explanation for the crimes. The girls' first experience in sleuthing is such a success that their mentor Mr. Shimada (Daikichi Sugawara) asks them to help out the principal at a nearby school, where the female students have been displaying some very strange behavior -- they've been drifting into a mysterious trance-like state during which they develop unusual eagerness to let boys have their way with them. The teenage supernatural researchers take the case, and find that the spirits of the dead are haunting the school -- and that the spirits (which have taken a physical form that resembles the male organ) have made it their business to put the girls in the mood for love. So how do our heroines fight the evil spirits without falling prey to them themselves? (And would anyone really mind if they did?) If the stars of High School GhostHustlers look a bit familiar, it may be because Senna Matsuda, Yuka Nakamori, and Yuko Kitamura are all well-known swimsuit models in their native Japan.
