Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
In the mountains of Anatolia in Eastern Turkey, Hidir witnesses his father's murder. By the social standards of that region, which have persisted since time immemorial, it is his responsibility to kill his father's murderers. The first time he attempts to perform his duty, he kills the wrong man and is sent to prison. The actual trigger-man is now in the city. Sent to track him down, he meets up with a union organizer whose cause seems just to him. He works together with him for workers' rights before discovering that this is the man he was sent to kill. Now he is confronted with a choice: follow his clan's ancient traditions, or come into fellowship with the modern world.
