Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Perry Lang plays Hewitt, a retarded youth who happens to be a knuckleball expert. Hewitt's only friend is Moosie Drier, who has made the Little League team with the handicapped boy's help and training. Now Moosie's friends (and family) are encouraging him to terminate his relationship with Hewitt. Before this sentimental (but not maudlin) hour-long drama has ended, Hewitt has taught virtually everyone concerned an important lesson about friendship and loyalty. The Emmy-winning Hewitt's Just Different was originally telecast as an ABC Afterschool Special on October 12, 1977.
