Synopsis by Elizabeth Smith
His very names conjure up dreadful images of the Nazi war atrocities and the slaughter of millions of innocent people. In this program, Adolf Hitler's clever and successful attempt to gain power in Germany is chronicled, along with the years during World War II that challenged everyone and eventually led to Hitler's suicide. Archival footage reveals Hitler's forceful speaking style and alarming ability to motivate the masses to either actively support his evil pursuits or numb themselves to the stark realities that would flow from his proposed actions. His attempt to rid the world of Jews, the disabled, gypsies, and others was one of history's darkest chapters. Middle and high school students are among the target audience for this program.
