Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Arriving in New York in hopes of becoming an opera star, Marcia Calhoun (Virginia Pearson) subsidizes her musical education by becoming the mistress of millionaire Phillip Bradley (Edward F. Rosen). When her relationship with Bradley comes to an end, Marcia make a spectacular operatic debut in Paris, where she catches the eye of prudish American Weston King (Charles H. Martin). When King proposes marriage, Marcia bluntly informs him that she has "been around," whereupon her would-be husband rushes out of her dressing room in horror. At this, Marcia realizes that she has sold her soul for the sake of her career, whereupon she gives up opera and returns to New York, hoping to avenge herself against Bradley, whom she regards as the man who ruined her life (Not that she ever protested his patronage!) Attaching herself to Bradley's businessman brother John (Victor Sutherland), Marcia uses "inside information" gleaned from John to manipulate the stock market and to bring about the destruction of both Bradley brothers. Incredibly, John forgives Marcia, declaring that he's wanted to make a new start in life all along!
