Although Harry Palmer (Johnnie Walker) is a respectable young man who sings in the church choir, Viola Winters (Viola Dana) is not allowed to marry him because he works in a garage and her father has higher aspirations for her. But Mrs. Curtis, an older lady who understands their situation, helps them to elope and lives with them in the city. A robber breaks into their home and kills Mrs. Curtis. When the young couple read her will, they discover that she has left them a lot of money. This comes in handy when Viola's father gets in trouble through his stock speculations. If he doesn't cover his margins he is ruined. Harry comes through with the funds to save him, and Viola is reunited with her parents.
