Synopsis by Mark Deming

A personal crisis turns an elderly man's life into a surreal nightmare in this short drama. Henry (Gerard Poirier) is a celebrated classical pianist whose life takes a sudden and unexpected turn when his wife Maria (Louise Laprade) suddenly vanishes. As Henry searches for Maria, he finds himself traveling through a forbidding landscape where past and present collide. Henry was written and directed by actor and filmmaker Yan England, who says the film was inspired by his experienced with his grandfather, who was living with Alzheimer's Disease. The film was nominated for a 2013 Academy Award as Best Live Action Short Subject.
