Synopsis by Robert Firsching

This third entry in the series which began with Gokudo (1968) once again stars Tomisaburo Wakayama as Shimamura, the former street thug who has become a powerful gangster. But Kiyoshi Saeki's film is more interested in the humorous aspects of Shimamura's story, as he is drafted into the military and ends up in charge of a supply unit. Hiroshi Nawa co-stars in this tongue-in-cheek parody of the popular Heitai Yakuza series, which comprised nine films from 1965-72 starring Shintaro Katsu. Shimamura's own military service did not last as long, as he was discharged at the beginning of the fourth film, Matteita Gokudo (1969).
