Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Barbara Castleton stars as Betty Lansing, the daughter of a crusty old senator. When Betty's father dies, she resolves to represent his party at an upcoming political convention. It is here that she meets Brandon Kent (Irving Cummings), an idealistic young congressman from the opposition party. While playing an innocent game of bridge with Betty, Kent is unexpectedly arrested. It turns out that the cops were actually looking for another card player who was wanted on an embezzlement charge, but Kent's political opponents spread the "news" that the youthful congressman was caught in a raid at a gambling house. Only Betty can save Kent's good name, and this she does with a stirring speech at the convention -- a speech that loses the election for her party but which wins her Kent's undying love.
