Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This comedy is one of a handful of pictures that Oliver Hardy both directed and starred in for Vim. Hardy plays an inventor who has created a safety device for street cars, but who has a facial tick that makes him look like he's winking (hence the picture's title). Kate, who owns the Suredeath Street Railway Company (Kate Price), wants to see a demonstration, and the inventor falls in love with her daughter, Ethel (Ethel Burton). A demonstration of the device is arranged, which the owner of a rival street car company is informed about through a spy (Florence McLoughlin) who has been posing as Kate's secretary. The rival leaves a bomb on the street car, but the inventor and Kate's daughter board before he has a chance to get off. The inventor discovers him and tosses him off the madly dashing street car just as the bomb explodes. Luckily for Babe and Kate's daughter, the explosion lands them safely in Kate's auto.
