Richard Sylvarnes' experimental film H.C.E. utilizes still photographs in order to tell the history of Western civilization in just under 90 minutes. The cavalcade of real and fictional characters who appear during the course of the tale include Socrates, Little Red Riding Hood, and Franz Kafka. H.C.E. made its world debut at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival.
