Paladin (Richard Boone) is hired by wealthy San Francisco dowager Mrs. Quincy (Eleanor Audley) to locate her granddaughter and heir. The trail leads Paladin to a lonely farm, where he meets a wild, unkempt girl named Prudence Powers (Gale Garnett), who is treated as little better than a slave by her domineering father (Robert Emhardt). It is up to Paladin to pry Prudence away from her home and to transform her into a proper West Coast debutante--a job that proves to be one of the toughest the gunslinger has ever encountered. Future M*A*S*H costar Wayne Rogers appears as Daniel.
