Told like a fable story, the film revolves Lazzaro (Adriano Tardiolo), a peasant in a small and isolated Italian village, who works on land owned by the Marquise de Luna. Tancredi (Tommaso Ragno), the rich son of the marquise runs away from home but after encountering Lazzaro, decides to make him his servant. When Lazzaro appears to die, he is brought back to life by a wolf after which the narrative takes a supernatural and whimsical turn. Written and directed by Alice Rohrwacher.
