Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein
Danish silent screen director Robert Dinesen starred in this typically exotic melodrama in which a Russian governor's daughter (Ebba Thomsen) is forced to marry a nasty but wealthy nobleman. She, however, loves a poor army lieutenant (Dinesen) who, in anger over the upcoming nuptials, joins the opposing Tartar forces. Years later, when the Tartars kidnap the governor's daughter (now a countess), he repents, and having saved the girl, returns to the Russian militia.
