Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Australian comedian Garry McDonald assumed his familiar alter ego of TV personality Norman Gunston on this lighthearted travel series. On each half-hour episode, Gunston visited a different region of Australia, conducting satirical interviews with the locals and making mocking comments about the sites and sounds. Debuting over the 7 Network in 1981, Gunston's Australia was originally slated for eight episodes. Alas, ratings were miserable, so only six programs were telecast.
