Director Howard Johnson explores the brief life and legacy of self-styled urban poet Kieron 'Kidco' Bernard in this documentary that asks whether Kidco will be remembered as a pioneering poet in the tradition of Tupac Shakur, or a tragic victim of Britain's growing gun culture. An aspiring wordsmith and hip-hop star who was on the verge of signing a lucrative record deal when he was gunned down in January of 2002, Kidco had become trapped in a world of his own making, and seemed almost resigned to the fact that he would die young. And die young he did; Kidco was just twenty-five years old when his life came to a sudden and violent end. But could his death have been prevented had he simply rejected the thufg life culture and focused his creativity in a more positive direction? In this film, Kidco's friends, family fondly recall the young man who possessed the talent of a true superstar yet ultimately succumbed to his own legend. The members of the gang Kidco called Tribel also weigh in on what they're friend's loss means to them, and the future that could have been had he lived to craft his talent into something truly special.
