Inspired by the successful Playstation game Takidou Gensou Gun Parade March, Gunparade March is about Atsushi Hayami, a 15-year-old boy who is drafted, along with nearly all people his age, to fight against a malicious alien enemy. The war against the Genjuu, insect-like creatures from another planet, began 50 years prior and so the soldiers currently fighting the war were not alive for its inception. Atsushi pilots a giant humanoid machine along with the rest of the 5121 Force and tries to balance the fate of humankind with growing up.
