Duo Maxwell, piloting his souped-up but still incomplete Gundam Deathscythe, reclaims his self-proclaimed title as the God of Death as he disrupts supply lines to the moon. The supplies are for Operation Nova, the Romefeller Foundation's code name for their plan to cement their hold on Earth by suppressing rebel activity with computer-piloted "mobile dolls." Colonel Tubarov dispatches Colonel Trant to investigate the latest act of sabotage, but Trant is preoccupied: fascinated by the Gundam Zero's brainwave cockpit system, he tries to unravel its secrets -- especially since he has discovered that in combat, the system causes the pilot to hallucinate and lose control. He is convinced that if he can find a Gundam pilot and get more data, he can persuade Tubarov to modify the cockpit system for Romefeller's mobile suits. Trant decides to take the Gundam Zero and search for his test pilot -- and finds Duo Maxwell.
