With the initial run of mobile doll production complete, the Romefeller Foundation puts Operation Nova into effect, sending dolls to Earth to eliminate OZ soldiers loyal to Colonel Treize Khushrenada. Treize himself has been ordered to remain under confinement by Duke Dermail of the Romefellers, who still need OZ as their military arm. Quatre's new Gundam, Heero, and Quatre have been captured, and Dermail orders the Gundam destroyed. Meanwhile, Romefeller Chief Engineer Tubarov argues with Colonel Trant, an OZ officer who has discovered that Quatre's Gundam uses a cockpit system that works directly from the pilot's brain waves. Excited at the possibility that the cockpit system could be used with OZ mobile suits, he tries to convince Tubarov to keep the Gundam long enough to incorporate their technology -- but Tubarov believes completely in the mobile dolls. A team from the Treize Faction manages to rescue Heero and Quatre, and the two are quickly reunited with the Gundam engineers, who are hidden on the Lunar Base.
