Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter

The renowned Irish flautist James Galway acts as host for this benefit concert held in Paris in 1989. The United Nations High Commission for Refugees was the organizer of the event, and all proceeds went to further the Commission's goal of aiding refugees. Galway performs with a number of his friends and stellar artists, including Larry Adler, Yefim Bronfman, and Alexis Weissenberg. The celebrated musicians perform solos and duets. They are backed by the National Orchestra of France, Lorin Maazel conducting.
