Synopsis by Alice Day
In 1998, The Odyssey Channel, an interfaith cable network, produced a series of short films called Great Preachers, basing their choices on a study conducted by Baylor University that listed the qualifications necessary for a dynamic and effective preacher. These qualities included the ability to deliver a strong message well, while demonstrating a charismatic flair for involving the listener. In Great Preachers: Rev. John Collins, who is a Paulist Father based at St. Paul the Apostle Church in New York City, Rev. Collins conveys a message written for the series. He is interviewed by host Bill Turpie, and offers comments on his style of preaching.
