Synopsis by Nathan Southern

The Japanese videomagazine JDM Option presents the home release, Grand Prix All Star 2005 Tokyo. The "D1 Grand Prix" - an auto race devoted to and built around the sport of motor drifting - was first launched c. 2001, in Tokyo, with ordinary street vehicles souped-up to compete in the race. Subsequent years saw the Prix's official creation of its "street legal class" of these motor vehicles. In All Star 2005 Tokyo, the D1GP drops the street legal vehicles onto the streets of Japan's largest metropolis for a live-wire drifting competition between the twenty-five most popular Japanese drifters. This issue also sports a sequence with those two female fixtures of the D1GP, Kazumi and Hatsuno, who show - on camera - how to start a drift vehicle, before Dorkin and Mana-P seize control of the film and rebuff the girls with a competing sequence.
