Synopsis by Nathan Southern
African-American performers T.J. McGee, Vince D., Edwonda White, and Lester Barrie (onetime emcee of BET's hit ComicView series) have carved out an entirely unique niche for themselves as "gospel comedians." In a world where the preponderance of standup comedy relies on blue jokes and four-letter words, these born-again Christians exercise their comic talents doing widely-lauded standup routines before congregations and in BET Sunday airslots. The routines sacrifice "age sensitive" material without sacrificing hilarity. In the home release Gospel Comedy All Stars, the members of this comedy troupe take turns at the mike before an audience of fourteen hundred fans in sunny San Diego, CA.
