It's especially designed to encourage and motivate young people to consider careers in the math and science fields. Each program profiles women on-the-job to provide a realistic look at the workplace experience. The women also discuss their personal lives and career choices. A Good Job for a Woman: Ecology examines careers in this vast and varied field where the emphasis is on environmental concerns, outdoor activities, and natural resource conservation. Viewers shadow a coast guard officer, learn about an environmental save-the-coastline project, as well as a high school ecological project, and observe students involved in career training.
