Synopsis
This survey of faith-based social work focuses on an inner-city Pentacostal minister in Boston, a drug-rehabilitation program in Maryland and a mentoring program for children of prisoners in Philadelphia. They represent "a second civil-rights movement," says John DiIulio, President Bush's former director of faith-based initiatives. At Teen Challenge, a live-in program near D.C., Rev. Mike Zello doesn't go easy on those he helps, but, he says, "If you have the will, God has the power."
