Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
Filmmaker and interfaith advocate Ruth Broyde-Sharone attempts to voice her frustration at religious-based violence while simultaneously issuing a call for peace and understanding with this short documentary that was endorsed by the Human Relations Commission of the city of Los Angeles. Citing the example of the Islamic Center of Southern California as a model for peaceful interfaith cooperation, Broyde-Sharone notes that the organization's approach of inviting religious individuals of all persuasions to celebrate Muslim holidays offers a new bridge towards understanding and a wider appreciation of different cultures. Likewise, a Muslim-Jewish "Seder of Reconciliation" held on Passover in Woodland Hills' Temple Kol Tikvah is cited for bringing together 150 participants in a symbolic gesture to reunite Abraham's estranged sons Isaac and Ishmael.
