Parents seeking to introduce their children to the exciting world of travel need look no further than this dazzling DVD series that combines animation with live action footage to offer a fascinating glimpse at cultures around the world. Created by working mother and former Walt Disney Company Executive Producer Rashmi Turner, the Global Wonders series aims to nurture a strong sense of self-identity among younger viewers while boosting self-esteem and helping to improve cultural and social skills. In this installment, twins Trey and Alicia join friends Lee and Marisa to explore African-American culture. By using the power of their imaginations, the kids are introduced to the art of Horace Pippin, the music of Louis Armstrong, and the monumental accomplishments of legendary athlete Jackie Robinson. With a little help from their new friends, Trey and Alicia even learn how to sing the blues and dance hip-hop.
