Synopsis by Rebecca Flint Marx

The winner of the Wolgin Prize for Best Documentary at the 2000 Jerusalem Film Festival, Reshimat Ahava is the account of an emotional journey taken by the five grown Fisher siblings to locate the grave of their oldest brother, who died as a baby, and the whereabouts of his twin sister, who disappeared shortly after their birth in 1951. The Fishers are the children of Eastern European Holocaust refugees who arrived in Israel with plans to have a large family; the circumstances surrounding the respective death and disappearance of their twin brother and sister were kept a mystery by their mother, who disseminated only rumors and small slips of information over the years. United by brother David, the Fisher brothers and their sister undertake an arduous and ambitious investigation into the whereabouts of their missing siblings, an investigation that is as revealing of their own doubts, fears, hopes, and anxieties as it is about the location of their long-lost loved ones.
