Having been away from civilization so long, and living together in such close proximity, has caused the Castaways to become cranky and argumentative. The Professor (Russell Johnson) concludes that the seven strandees are suffering from the first stages of "island madness", which always gets worse before it gets better. What is called for is an elaborate ruse to get the Castaways' minds off their hostility and to work together in harmony once more.
