Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Debuting January 4, 2000, on BBC1, the British children's series Ghosthunter was probably the wackiest project ever undertaken by former Upstairs Downstairs star Jean Marsh. The basic story concerned the efforts of youngsters Roddy and Tessa Oliver (William Theakston and Verity-Jane Dearsley) to protect their ghostly pal, a Victorian-era shoeshine boy named William Povey (Lee Godwin). On each of the series' 12 25-minute episodes, poor William had to evade the clutches of infamous ghosthunter Mrs. Croker (Jean Marsh) and her slimy assistant DeSniff (Richard Hanson). Running for two seasons of six episodes each, Ghosthunter vanished on January 18, 2001.
