Ghost Stories has the aroma of a busted TV pilot. Director Lynn Silver offers us a collection of horror tales, with the requisite hideous beasts and hobgoblins. Each of the separate tales is capped by an O. Henry denouement that sharp-eyed viewers will guess a mile away. Decent special effects, effective makeup jobs, wildly variable acting. At least Ghost Stories has the good sense to wrap things up in less than an hour.
