Originally titled United Travel Getaway in deference to its sponsor, this weekly Australian vacation show devoted its first few years to displaying the scenic wonders of Australia itself. Gradually, the series expanded its scope to include snippets of fabulous travel spots throughout the world. A number of reporters handled the location coverage and on-site interviews. Debuting over Australia's 9 Network on May 14, 1992, the weekly, 60-minute Getaway was still running at the beginning of the 21st century.
