In this symbolic opus, a group of devils are losing their standing in hell. They come up to visit the surface of the earth and discover that humans have become such accomplished villains that there is no need for the services they formerly offered. Of particular interest is the devils' commentary on an ordinary family drama, illuminating the perfidy they see.
