Three different and daring teens get together for a shared adventure in this story about friendship and the ability to outsmart the adult world, if necessary. One boy is 15 and full of invention and creativity, another is less sure of himself, stammers, and is hampered by conservative parents. The third person in the trio is a girl who has lived all her life in institutions after being abandoned by her mother soon after she was born. By coincidence, the three separately escape their homes around the same time, accidentally meet each other, and then become good friends out to evade the police who are hunting them down. Before their merry chase has ended, they make a pact to do it again the following year -- and with this practice run under their belts, next year should be even easier.
