It is two weeks since Yushiro and Miharu learned about their heritage as kais. The pair are in Kansai's Asian Vein when they find themselves caught in the crossfire of a gang turf war. When Yushiro saves a shopkeeper, they are in turn saved by a man named Won. Won takes them to their hideout, where their leader thanks them for saving one of their own -- the shopkeeper -- and offers them a place to stay in gratitude. Meanwhile, an American suspension on grain exports due to a global heat wave is wreaking economic and social havoc, with rioting taking place in the Asian Veins. Colonel Hirokawa, Kazukiyo Gowa, and Nishida try to figure out the best way to deploy forces that will continue to give them an advantage, and Hirokawa points out that the Experimentation Company has been resistant to him. Nishida takes it upon himself to sway them to their side. In Kansai, a Symbol spy spots Yushiro; in order to capture him and Miharu, the organization calls on one of their old operatives in the area -- Won. (American release in 2001.)
