Ramchandra Thakur directs and veteran filmmaker Mehboob Khan produces this reformist drama about the evils of poverty. Sharad (Surendranath) is a destitute college graduate who falls in with a band of beggars. He also meets wealthy heiress Sudha (Rose), whose father, Biharilal (Sankatha), owns the abandoned factory where the beggars shelter. He proposes to Sudha that they start up the factory and employ everyone living there. The business proves to be a success, to the displeasure of Sudha's villainous fiancé Satish (Ansari), who is also dating the comely Lata (Veena Kumari) on the side. Soon, Satish not only closes down the factory, but also accuses Sharad of a hideous crime.
