A cadre of five world-class symphony conductors, including The Bavarian State Orchestra's Zubin Mehta, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's Daniele Gatti, The Vienna State Opera's Seiji Ozawa, The Munich Philharmonic Orchestra's Christian Thielemann, and The Cleveland Orchestra's Franz Welser-Möst, commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the post-WWII reopening of The Vienna State Opera, in Gala Concert. A home release geared to aficionados of orchestral music and opera, Gala features a once-in-a-lifetime "who's who" of classical composition and performance appearing together, and interpreting arias extracted from Aida, Fidelio, Die Frau ohne Schatten, Don Giovanni, Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, and Der Rosenkavalier. The twenty-two guests include Placido Domingo, Nadia Krasteva, Thomas Hampson, Michael Schade, Deborah Polaski, and Violeta Hermana.
