Classical music fans know well that there have been few conductors as proficient at presenting the works of Bruckner than Gunther Wand, and with this performance captured live at the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival in 2001 anyone who remains unconvinced can hear for themselves just why Wand is held in such high regard. The last-ever opening concert by Wand, this textured performance also features a selection by acclaimed composer Schubert.
