Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Debuting July 5, 1956 on CBC, the weekly, half-hour Canadian children's show Fun Time starred Frank Heron as one Captain Frank. The program took place on a set resembling an old-fashioned showboat, even though the atmosphere was more suitable to a three-ring circus. Aided and abetted by such regulars as Matey the Parrot (a puppet), magician Tom Auburn, Elmer the Elephant (not his real name), and kiddie sidekicks Alan Jack and June Mack, Captain Frank shepherded the youngsters at home through a melange of juggling acts, trained animals, filmed visits to zoos and amusement parks, and helpful safety tips. Produced in Montréal, Fun Time ran until February 1, 1957.
