Palin finds himself at the Desperate and Dateless Ball in Australia, composed of blind dates matched by computer, where he is stood up. In Auckland, NZ, he meets the largest Polynesian population outside the Pacific Islands and models Polynesian clothing. On South Island, he watches whales and meets the Maori. New Zealand sports include shotover boating, which involves speedboats and sheer cliffs, bungee jumping, and flightseeing on glaciers.
