Synopsis by Alice Day
In this PBS travel series, host Michael Palin traverses the Sula Seas, once infested with pirates, and now the base for guerrillas fighting in the Philippines. Full Circle With Michael Palin: Borneo and Indonesia covers the rain forests of Borneo, where Palin and his crew meet up with orangutans and Sarawak former head-hunters. He goes on to Jakarta and then to Java, where he climbs Mount Bromo, a still-active volcano. Before leaving, he works with shadow puppets, picks and tastes the local tea, and tries to decipher the messages carved on the giant monument Borobodur.
