Synopsis by Kathleen Wildasin

From Princess to Queen is a 60-minute BBC history documentary on the life of England's Queen Elizabeth II. Old photographs, newsreel footage, passages from "Lilibet's" own diary, and interviews with royal biographers document her childhood, family life, and accession to the throne. You'll meet Elizabeth's shy father, outgoing mother, and younger sister Princess Margaret, and learn the details of her courtship and marriage to Prince Philip. Highlights of the film include footage of her father's coronation in 1937, and her own, in 1953, after his untimely death.
