Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
This documentary follows the progress of an (ultimately unsuccessful) strike by members of an electrical workers union in the Australian state of Queensland. The hardy workers are betrayed by their own union in secret talks with the manufacturers. Local labor minister Vince Lester makes a bid for as much on-camera time as he can get, in this Film Commission Documentary Fellowship movie. The director had earlier filmed the story of another unsuccessful strike among provincial coal miners, entitled Kemira: Diary of a Strike).
