In the first episode of a two-part story, new KACL station manager Kate Costas (Mercedes Ruehl) cancels the staff's annual raises. On behalf of his colleagues, Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) storms into Kate's office to register a protest. But one thing leads to another (as they often do), and before long Frasier and Kate are locked in a passionate embrace. Patrick Kerr makes a return appearance as Roz's nerdish admirer, Noel Shempsky.
