Synopsis by Nathan Southern

The family-friendly animated feature Franklin and the Turtle Lake Treasure brings back to the screen Franklin the Turtle, a character first popularized in books by Brenda Clark and Paulette Bourgeois, then in a Canadian television series produced by animation giant Nelvana. In this outing, Franklin (voice of Cameron Ansell) and his pals in the forest community of Woodland are thrilled to learn of a pending visit by Franklin's Aunt Lucy (Shauna Black), an archaeologist. Along for the ride is Lucy's goddaughter, Sam (Tajja Isen) - to Franklin's irritation, as the two never get along. Upon arrival, Lucy tells everyone a fantastic story of a time capsule buried decades ago by Granny (voice of Corinne Conley), its location long since lost thanks to a forest fire that killed Granny's parents and obscured the location. Shortly after Granny confirms this story, but falls deathly ill, Franklin discovers that the capsule actually contains a talisman poised to heal her. He, Lucy, Sam and several friends soon embark on an exciting, peril-filled quest to locate the capsule, retrieve the talisman and use it to resuscitate Granny.
