Synopsis by Steve Blackburn

Humor was never his strong suit, but Sinatra was a trouper. After his vocal chords alarmingly failed during a performance in 1950, Sinatra caught a break when friend Bob Hope favored "Old Blue Eyes" with a guest appearance on the NBC special Star Spangled Revue. Still recuperating, Sinatra was limited to a single song. That meant he had to fill the rest of his time bantering and doing comedy sketches with Hope. After that show, humor (or attempts at it) played a regular part in Sinatra's television work. Part of the Frank Sinatra: His Life and Times video series, this program covers the comedy and humor that formed one of the various facets in the 50-year career of Francis Albert Sinatra (1915-1998). Highlights of this video include photographs and archival film footage of him performing comedy with such entertainment luminaries as Bob Hope and Rat Packer Dean Martin, as well as interviews with family, friends, and associates.
