Synopsis by Mark Deming

Can you believe everything you see on the internet -- and if what you see online is real, what should you do about it? Trevor (Justin Kirk), Amber (Terryn Westbrook) and Rob (Sam Rosen) are three close friends who run a business called Go Time Liquidators -- they follow the daily obituaries, clear out the homes of people who've died, and sell what they find on eBay for whatever the market will bear. The three enjoy working together, though there's a bit of romantic tension as Amber used to be involved with Trevor but is now engaged to Rob. While clearing out a run-down old house, Trevor, Amber and Rob start killing time on breaks by checking out a web site called fourboxes.tv. On fourboxes, one can watch a man named Havoc who lives in a dilapidated house and spends his time making bombs; Havoc is supposedly unaware that his home has been wired with surveillance equipment, though not everyone believes the story. As they spend more time observing Havoc, Trevor and Amber are increasingly certain that what they're seeing is real and someone has to stop Havoc before he plants one of his bombs, while Rob is dubious and prefers to remain a passive observer. Four Boxes was the first feature film from writer and director Wyatt McDill, and was an official selection at the 2009 South by Southwest Film Festival.
