Synopsis by Cavett Binion
This interesting rip-off of The Evil Dead involves a diabolical real-estate agent who commits a series of ritual murders in order to release an evil god trapped in another dimension. The sacrifices, timed to coincide with cosmic emanations from the black hole in which the god has been imprisoned, turn several occupants of a remote mountain cabin (sound familiar?) into demonic ghouls. Gory mayhem ensues as the two survivors fend off the zombie attacks, leading to a somewhat insolvent conclusion in which it may be difficult to tell who wins. Though basically pointless, this film nevertheless boasts some effective scares, excellent makeup effects, and a fairly detailed exploration of the H.P. Lovecraft-inspired premise.
