Synopsis by Michael Hastings
Two generations of two different Czech families stop to ponder their changing values and points-of-view in this philosophical feature from documentarian Ivan Vojnar. Tethered by little in the way of narrative, Vojnar and his improvisational cast allow Forest Walkers to become a treatise on the hopes and fears of young people growing up in the shadow of the former Czechoslovakia. As the characters wander through landscapes and cityscapes past and present, their opinions are juxtaposed with those of their elders and their contemporaries.
