Synopsis by Nathan Southern

An unusual series of events belied the making of this film, whereby some of Poland's most celebrated contemporary actors, such as Ewa Kasprzyk, were invited to perform their favorite monologues from Polish movies, on-camera, in a series of Warsaw-based auditions. The catch is that the filmed monologues were to be performed out of their original dramatic contexts, and in fact recontextualized as small components of a new narrative, created via the juxtaposition of the seemingly-unrelated scenes and dialogues. The films to which the actors in this film pay homage include: Man of Iron, Ashes and Diamonds, Dekalog 4 and Sequence of Feelings. Matthew Noel-Tod directs.
